Ngovu Wanawake was founded in 2014, after a group of women realized that working together they could achieve more. We are a consortium of professional women in property development and petroleum consulting.
We are all from diverse backgrounds and have been working in our respective industries for many years in the spirit of transformation, this unique group of women saw the opportunity to collaborate and work towards a common goal our team of ladies are specialists in their field and bring a wealth of knowledge to any project.

Walda Nxanga is the founder and CEO of Ngovu Wanawake. A petroleum retail and development specialist. She has 24 years’ experience in the industry. She has done project management with university of Pretoria and university of free state respectively. She has done a commercial property program with wits plus 2010. She has worked for one of the biggest petroleum companies in south Africa and has managed more than 500 petroleum retail outlets nationally. She has experience as a petroleum retail property developer as well as retail operations management. She completed the leadership in oil and energy program through wits business school in 2010. She also completed the SAPIA – women in leadership program in 2013 through duke. She currently leads the Ngovu team of professional consultants in order to achieve these outstanding results.
Carmen holds an LLB Degree from The University of Johannesburg (2005), Admitted Attorney 2006. She has worked for various Private Legal Firms for the past 15 years in areas of Litigation, Drafting of Agreements, Property Development Administration. Carmen is responsible for all Contracts and Legal Administration for Ngovu.
Gugu has worked in both in Public and Private sectors on various projects. Gugu holds a National Diploma in Building with Wits Technicon 1996, and further completed BTech in Construction Management from Wits Technicon (2000). She also completed a Diploma in Project Management Damelin 1997. Gugu is a CPM Candidate Member with the SACPCMP.
Andile has broad town planning experience in both the private and public sectors in South Africa; experienced in development planning and spatial planning. He has worked on a variety of different projects including housing, commercial and utilities developments. He is a registered with the south African council of town and regional planners (SACPLAN) -membership number: c/7831/2014. Andile holds a national diploma in town & regional planning (December 2012) – Durban university of technology. Bachelor of technology in town ®ional planning (December 2014 ) he has completed the following programs: university of south Africa – basic, intermediate and advanced project management (December 2013) and University of Edinburgh – completed training on research methods in social sciences (August 2015).
Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager
Seipathi is a construction and project management specialist, with both quantity surveying and BTech project and construction management qualifications. She has more than eighteen years working experience As Technical Manager, Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor. She currently works at PHUMAF as a managing member.
Conveyancing Attorney
Dr. Yugandri Maharaj holds a BA LAW, LLB (UKZN) specialising in CONVEYANCING, DEBT COUNSELLING, BUSINESS RESCUE PRACTITIONER, INSOLVENCY PRACTITIONERSHE is an internationally certified life coach, business consultant, property coach, philanthropist and qualified real-estate attorney.
Architect
Bethilde Potgieter, Principal Architect and founder, completed her undergraduate studies (B.Arch. Stud 1993) and postgraduate (b.Arch.1994) At the University of the Free State, Bloemfontein. She is an active member of the council for the Architectural Profession (6835), Mpumalanga Institute of Architects and the South African institute of architects (7452). As the principal architect with 19 years of involvement in the architectural profession, she is committed to unique, expert design and is personally involved at all stages of the architectural process. That is from initial client briefing and concept design, through production of the built form to completion.
Legal Advisor
Siphokazi has worked for a petrochemical multinational for a few years now senior legal counsel at multichoice, reporting to the gm: legal services with responsibilities including drafting, vetting and negotiating contracts that the company enters into with third parties. She has a LLB (University of Johannesburg, 2007);black lawyers association – (commercial law project, 2007); LLM (University of Cape Town, 2012); NMP (Wits Business School, 2014); Law Society of South Africa; Institute of Directors; Business Women Association.
